Again, I like to cheat for Sunday Funday because this time, I didn’t want to get caught in horrible weather. However, since one of my favorite pubs is closing down effective January 1, I had to have one final day at the pub on Saturday for Boxing Day.
First off, The Brewery Tap is not known as a craft beer hotspot, but they do have local options like an array of Saint Arnold, Karbach, and one 8th Wonder brew. What has made this place special is my affiliation with the Bayou City Blues as a Chelsea FC supporter.
This pub has been the home pub for our group since 2011 and we’ve seen so many amazing feats from the club – league titles, cup titles, and a European Cup. The self-proclaimed “bar for people who don’t like other people” is actually much friendlier than the moniker leads on. It’s very much a locals pub with regular customers.
We’ve enjoyed many pints at this pub and ultimately, we wanted to see one last match at the pub with our fellow mates. Unfortunately, it didn’t result in a win, but it did allow us to see so many of our friends at the pub we love one last time. Several Saint Arnold Art Car IPAs were drunk and several Karbach Weisse Versas were enjoyed leaving us with great lasting memories of a wonderful place filled with great people.
