Nope, I don’t want to go back to school. Not even a little bit. GPA doesn’t stand for grade point average, but rather German Pale Ale. Now, this style technically doesn’t exist, but stay with me for a second.
The folks at 3 Nations Brewing Company in Farmers Branch focus on the established brewing methods of Germany, Belgium, and England. What makes this beer unique is they use three types of hops (Equinox, Citra, and Mosaic) with German kölsch yeast to brew this bastard pale ale that turned out amazing.
Ultimately, the result is a beer that is hoppy, yet has a low IBU. It’s a beer that has a bold flavor, but has a low alcohol content. The beer is unbelievably sessionable for an alt/kölsch mix and rivals any pale ale I’ve had before.
The body is a mash of citrus flavors including orange, lemon, and grapefruit. It finishes hoppy and is very unique and drinkable. This beer is sure to be a favorite of mine and will probably be a go-to choice, especially when it starts to warm up outside.
