The end of summer means the beginning of Oktoberfest season in delicious beer land. About a week ago, I picked up my first 2015 batch of Karbach’s version – Karbachtoberfest. Granted, what always draws me to pick this up versus other Oktoberfest cans/bottles is the brilliant packaging (thanks, marketing guy!). Utilizing the traditional Oktoberfest colors with an appealing look, it usually draws my eye when I am looking for something at the store.
Overall, this marzen beer has a light caramel and honey flavor and a sweet roasted malt smell. While this beer is certainly enjoyable, there are many options out there that can rival/top this version if you’re looking for the best of the best. I tend to enjoy this one due to the fact it’s always smooth and pleases the palate over a drinking session.
Available now at most local grocery stores in an around the Texas Triangle region.
