The beer run. One of the best things in the world since it means stocking up on a glorious variety of brews for an entire week.
Driving back down to Galveston from Houston, we decided to stop at Corner Food Mart in Friendswood to buy a nice variety of items we haven’t enjoyed yet.
For this go ’round, we kept a very Austin feel with Infamous Brewing’s IPA, South Austin Brewing’s Crossroads Coffee Stout, Rogness Brewing’s OST Porter, and Jester King’s Mad Meg Farmhouse Provision Ale.
Ultimately, these beers appealed to us because as the weather is changing, we wanted to go with some darker beers that feel more fitting for the season. I’ll be honest though, if I get a chance to try a new IPA I haven’t sampled before, I have to jump on that opportunity. And finally, I’m jumping on that Jester King bandwagon after trying some of their beers and realizing what truly great techniques they are using out in southwest Austin.
I’ll be trying each of these beers throughout the week, so I’ll choose one for my beer of the week. Until then, run to the store and pick up some beer of your own and grow the craft beer revolution.
